Understanding the Four Seasons
| ☷ | ☵ | ☰ | ☲ | |
| Season | Winter The shortest days The darkest time of year Peak mystery | Spring Rising up | Summer The summit The longest days The brightest time of year Peak manifestation | Autumn Falling down |
| Time | Solar Midnight (~0000) The darkest time of day | Sunrise (~0600) | Solar Noon (~1200) The brightest time of day | Sunset (~1800) |
The annual seasons are a powerful set of metaphors for most of us, but those living near the equator will experience a weaker amplitude in their annual cycle (little difference between Summer and Winter). Meanwhile, they’ll have a stronger daily cycle (midday is super bright; midnight is super dark). Similarly, those experiencing a weak daily cycle (near the poles) will experience a strong annual cycle. So the daily cycle makes a great partner to the annual cycle.

16 Figures — the Cardinal Core of the Yi Jing
This is the cardinal core of the Yi Jing. It’s also the foundation of Odu Ifa from Africa, and Ilm Al-Raml from Arabia, and Medieval European Geomancy too.
There’s a reason our ancestors loved this stuff. Clear & balanced full-spectrum cosmography highlights patterns, and finds gaps and biases in systems of all kinds like never before.
